Tommy Brewer was born in Chicago and reared in public housing on Chicago's
Southside. He is a product of Chicago public schools, and is a graduate of
William's College and Northwestern University School of Law.

Brewer became deeply committed to public service after law school, and his
career includes services in the offices of the Cook County State's Attorney,
Cook County Office of the Special Prosecutor, Massachusetts Attorney General,
Commodities Future Trading Commission, The Illinois Department of
Professional Regulation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

From the prosecution of gang violence, medical and commodities fraud to the
investigation of public corruption, and police abuse, Brewer has fought to
protect the public's interest and preserve the public trust.

In 1995, Brewer co-founded Vision Quest Association, a non-profit organization
that provides education and training, through private and public institutions, to
atrisk youth in the principles of character, civility and community.

Presently, Brewer heads his own criminal defense firm, and as noted trial
attorney, he is frequently engaged by community and civic organizations to give
lectures on various aspects of the criminal justice system.
He resides in Evanston and is the father of four children: Ayana , Leslie, Miya
and Khalia.
